Midwest Institute for International-Intercultural Education

 

The Midwest Institute for International-Intercultural Education (MIIIE) is a self-funded consortium of two-year colleges. Its primary mission is to provide curriculum and professional development by organizing workshops, conferences, and funding for college projects.

Workshops

One-Day workshops are organized for learning, the exchange of ideas,
and professional development, based on specific global issues or a geographic region.

Conferences

MIIIE conferences provide a forum for the sharing of ideas, pedagogy, and experiences.  Colleagues present on their curriculum development, academic programming, and overseas projects for the purpose of learning, collaboration, and partnership.

Projects

MIIIE organizes and funds several projects to develop the programming
and curriculum of its member colleges.

Learning Materials

The MIIIE facilitates the sharing of curriculum resources and professional expertise among the faculty and staff of the consortium. Toward that effort there is an extensive database of curriculum modules representing about 30 disciplines.

Exhibits

The Midwest Institute for IIE organizes and/or facilitates educational exhibits with global themes or issues. The exhibits are offered to its member colleges in virtual format and/or as traveling exhibits to educate community college students, faculty, staff, and serving community.

Artifacts

A traveling exhibit for artwork by Syrian refugee artists from Zaa'tari refugee camp in Jordan. Sponsored by the Midwest Institute for International and Intercultural Education consortium, the exhibit launched from Lincoln Land Community College.
