Tuition Assistance

BJC’s tuition assistance benefit provides financial assistance to support eligible employees who pursue additional education to grow their career at BJC. The benefit pays a portion of, or all, tuition and other expenses for courses applied toward a college degree, or costs toward a certification program needed in their present or future position.

Eligibility
Tuition and certification assistance are available to eligible BJC employees on their first day of employment. The course/certification being pursued must have a start date after their hire date and the employment status must meet one of the criteria below:

  • Regular full-time employees working 35 hours or more per week.
  • Regular part-time employees working 24 hours or more per week.

Residents, Fellows, Interns, PRN’s, contractors, and temporary employees are not eligible for this benefit.

Tuition Assistance Amount
Regular full-time employees can receive up to $4,500 per calendar year; regular part-time employees can receive up to $2,250 per calendar year.

Tuition Assistance Plan Options
One advantage to BJC’s tuition assistance benefit is there are three plan options available: 1) reimbursement of expenses to the employee, 2) direct payment from BJC to the college/university or 3) direct payment from BJC to Goldfarb School of Nursing. Employees may use one or more options over the course of a year; however, the combined tuition assistance each year cannot exceed the annual maximum ($2250 or $4500).
