Canney has 44 years of experience in the financial service industry at Morgan Stanley. He has been a certified financial planner since 1983. A graduate of Iowa State University, Canney was on the Des Moines steering committee for Iowa State University’s $200 million Partnership in Prominence campaign and helped lead the Mid-Iowa Council Boy Scouts of America’s $13.5 million Maytag Center capital campaign. He’s a past-president of The Iowa Prayer Breakfast and is on the board of the Mid-Iowa Council Boy Scouts of America. Erin Cubit is senior director of advocacy at the Iowa Hospital Association. She works on federal and state lobbying activities as well as regulatory policies. Outside of government relations work, Cubit is a staff liaison for IHA’s District D hospitals and the Foundation Professionals for Iowa Hospitals personal membership group. She also leads the Hospice and Palliative Care Association of Iowa. She is a board member for the Des Moines chapter of the New Leaders Council and EyesOpenIowa. Cubit is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa where she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in public policy. Corrie Oberdin has more than 22 years of experience in digital marketing and more than 17 years of experience developing social media campaigns. She has developed community marketing programs for video games and television shows and created social media programs for financial institutions, child advocacy centers, food service suppliers and community nonprofits. Melissa Pence is a regional fundraising adviser with Amperage Marketing and Fundraising. Pence focuses on providing counsel and direction to nonprofit clients about their fundraising efforts and leads feasibility studies and capital campaigns. She serves clients in Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin. Before joining Amperage, Pence worked in various director and leadership roles for the Alzheimer’s Association and Sisters of Mercy for nearly two decades. She graduated from Loras College with a bachelor’s degree in public relations in 2000.
