“California hospitals have made significant investments and engaged in numerous national initiatives over the past decade that enable vital patient data and health information to be shared electronically between providers, as well as between patients and their caregivers,” said Carmela Coyle, President & CEO of the California Hospital Association.

“We all share the goal of accelerating the adoption of a statewide framework for the sharing of health information,” Coyle said. “I’m honored to serve on the state’s new HIE Stakeholder Advisory Group being formed to advance such a framework.”

“California has a unique opportunity to lead the nation in designing a modern approach to the exchange of health information,” Coyle said.  “CHA looks forward to adding the voice of hospitals to this important discussion.”
