Barnum Public Schools10 hours agoBES 6th graders resumed their citizen science work for the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) this week, monitoring the Moose Horn river at the Barnum city park. As part of their work, students use a Secchi tube to measure the clarity of the river. Students also record the river's appearance, recreational suitability, temperature, and stream stage. Citizens all across the state of MN volunteer to monitor rivers, streams and lakes and this data is used by the MPCA to assess the health of Minnesota's waterways. #BES #RealLifeScience #RiverMonitoring #BarnumBombers
