There are manufacturers, retailers, logistics providers, financial institutions all tightly linked in supply chains to fulfill your orders on time and within budget. Any mistake in the supply chain will delay, or even void, your orders. Every business coordinates and collaborates with other members in supply chains to meet consumer needs.

With increases in globalization, analytics capability and information technology advances, supply chain effectiveness and efficiency is all-important to company competitiveness and profitability. A degree in supply chain management will prepare you for a high potential career in this booming field.

Career Opportunities
Due to the proximity to major metro areas, the robust local economy and ample labor supply, the Lehigh Valley with the PA I-78/81 corridor is one of the top 10 logistics hubs in the United States. Big companies such as Amazon, Walmart, Home Depot, Nestle, BMW, Walgreens, Crayola, Just Born, Kellogg's and PetSmart, have all set up their regional distribution centers in this area.

In addition to the required thirteen core business courses at KU, Supply Chain Management track students experience a wide variety of courses particular to their area of study, which include:

  • Principles of Supply Chain Management
  • Principles of Business Logistics
  • Supply Chain Analytics
  • Global Transportation Management

  • Business Administration, Supply Chain Management (BSBA)
    1. Understand the concepts and principles of supply chain management.
    2. Apply the analytic skills and information technology to examine the current processes and to increase the efficiency of a supply chain.
    3. Appraise how the environmental forces (such as technological, economic and political forces)
    4. Evaluate the principles and strategy to establish efficient, effective and sustainable supply chain.
