She was impossible not to love. How was I supposed to fight this?
”You’re dancing too close to the flame.”
”It was more than your beautiful face. It was your beautiful soul.”
”You... I want to love you. I think I’ve waited my whole life to love you.”
It was fate. It’s supposed to be. We’re supposed to be.
The plot was just ok for the most part, but I started really liking the book after about 75%. I liked that the heroine is a fighter, she works non-stop just so that she can provide her sister with Down Syndrome a safe place to live and socialize. She's completely selfless and even when something difficult happens she tries to deal with it with maturity. Jasper (the hero) seems really gentle and sweet, but I can't say that I'm impressed by him.
My problem with the plot is that I didn't understand how the heroine (don't make me write her name, it's quite difficult 😅) realized he loved him. Yes, he was kind to her, but I didn't feel their chemistry that early in the book. Also, I couldn't connect much with both of the main characters but that's probably because I just got out of my reading slump so don't take this seriously.
This book ends with a cliffhanger (a secret is reaveled that could change everything but I had predicted it, not gonna lie) and even though I didn't plan on reading the second book in the series because, as I said, I didn't enjoy this one that much, I'll give it a go to see what happens.
Also, I'm very curious to see what happens with Stone because he is really mysterious and that made him really interesting to me 👀
Note: There is a trigger warning in this book. Unfortunately, I can't say much because I'll spoil something really important but be prepared.
(if you think you would enjoy this book, it's currently free on Amazon Kindle so make sure to grab it)
