From the author who brought you A Thousand Boy Kisses comes the new emotional novel, A Wish For Us.
A story of music. A story of healing. A story of love conquering all.

Nineteen-year-old Cromwell Dean is the rising star of electronic dance music. Thousands of people adore him. But no one knows him. No one sees the color of his heart.

Until the girl in the purple dress. She sees through the walls he has built to the empty darkness within.

When Cromwell leaves behind the gray skies of England to study music in the South Carolina heat, the last thing he expects is to see her again. And he certainly doesn’t expect that she’ll stay in his head like a song on repeat.

Bonnie Farraday lives for music. She lets every note into her heart, and she doesn’t understand how someone as talented as Cromwell can avoid doing the same. He’s hiding from his past, and she knows it. She tries to stay away from him, but something keeps calling her back.

Bonnie is the burst of color in Cromwell’s darkness. He’s the beat that makes her heart skip.

But when a shadow falls over Bonnie, it’s up to Cromwell to be her light, in the only way he knows how. He must help her find the lost song in her fragile heart. He must keep her strong with a symphony only he can compose.

A symphony of hope.
A symphony of love.
A symphony of them.

About the author

Tillie Cole

Amazon & USA Today Best Selling Author, Tillie Cole, is a Northern girl through and through. She originates from a place called Teesside on that little but awesomely sunny (okay I exaggerate) Isle called Great Britain. She was brought up surrounded by her English rose mother -- a farmer's daughter, her crazy Scottish father, a savagely sarcastic sister and a multitude of rescue animals and horses.
Being a scary blend of Scottish and English, Tillie embraces both cultures; her English heritage through her love of HP sauce and freshly made Yorkshire Puddings, and her Scottish which is mostly demonstrated by her frighteningly foul-mouthed episodes of pure rage and her much loved dirty jokes.

Having been born and raised as a Teesside Smoggie, Tillie, at age nineteen, moved forty miles north to the 'Toon', Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, where she attended Newcastle University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts honours degree in Religious Studies. She returned two years later to complete a Post-Graduate Certificate in Teaching High School Social Studies. Tillie, regards Newcastle to be a home from home and enjoyed the Newcastle Geordie way of life for seven 'proper mint' and 'lush' years.

One summers day, after finishing reading her thousandth book on her much loved and treasured Kindle, Tillie turned to her husband and declared, "D'you know, I have a great idea for a story. I could write a book." Several months later, after repeating the same tired line at the close of another completed story, she was scolded by her husband to shut up talking about writing a novel and "just bloody do it!" For the first time in eleven years, Tillie actually took his advice (he is still trying to get over the shock) and immediately set off on a crazy journey, delving deep into her fertile imagination.

Tillie, ever since, has written from the heart. She combines her passion for anything camp and glittery with her love of humour and dark brooding men (most often muscled and tattooed – they’re her weakness!). She also has a serious side (believe it or not!) and loves to immerse herself in the complex study of World Religions, History and Cultural Studies and creates fantasy stories that enable her to thread serious issues and topics into her writing -- yep, there's more to this girl than profanity and sparkles!

After six years of teaching high school Social Studies and following her Professional Rugby Player husband around Europe, they have finally given up their nomadic way of life and settled in Calgary, Alberta where Tillie spends most of her days (and many a late night) lost in a writing euphoria or pursuing a dazzling career as a barrel-racing, tasselled-chap wearing, Stetson-sporting cowgirl... Ye-haw!

I don't even know how to review this book anymore. I cried consistently for the last 150 pages or so. This book broke me, mended me, broke me and then mended me again. Part of me will always long for what was lost... It didn't really start heavy but midway, things started getting real. Things started unfolding and it was an emotionally charged and heartbreaking read. There are some heavy triggers tho (mentioned at the end of the review).

✔️ Dislike to love
✔️ Bad boy x good girl
✔️ Chronic illness rep
✔️ Music focused
✔️ Bit of celeb romance
✔️ Tearjerker

I loved both the main characters, Bonnie and Cromwell. Their character arcs and growth was worth reading and shedding tears over. Although, I do admit I loved Cromwell way more than Bonnie. Seeing him go from a typical bad boy, to opening up and becoming vulnerable, finally accepting his love for music and realising he is someone worthy was everything to read. Him loving Bonnie with his all and sharing each and every part of him was endearing. He is so sexy tbh. Bonnie is his opposite. She is down to earth, loves life, is easy to love and doesn't come with much complexity. The only thing that made me love her less in comparison to Cromwell, was the fact that while she was trying to get him to open up, she refused to do the same. I get that they were still getting to know each other but it was kind of hypocritical. Easton grew on me... I didn't realize he was going through so much until it was revealed and my heart absolutely broke for him.

The romance is sweet and there are some mild spice moments. I loved the chemistry between the two main characters and how intensely they loved each other.

The ending was a bit predictable but so impactful. The only thing I couldn't predict was Lewis and Cromwell's connection. I cried for hours and am pretty sure this book is going to be in my mind for a long time.

Overall, a super emotional and heavy read. I would recommend if the triggers are something one can look past. Also, people who study music or are interested in it will definitely enjoy it.

⚠️TW- Suicidal attempt, self harm, mental illness, suicide, addiction, death, grief, terminal illness.

______________

The Writing
I've read Tillie Cole before.
Maybe that's a wrong way to start.
...
I've read Tillie Cole's dark romance before.

I never read "A Thousand Boy Kisses" and right from the synopsis, and the reviews I could tell that this was going to be somewhere along those lines. So I knew I was in for sap and mush and lovey dovey romance. I was genuinely looking forward to it.

A Wish For Us is centered around two people that have music running through their veins. Think of it like a life source, and both these 'patients' are attached to it through an IV drip. Cromwell and Bonnie meet through a series of coincidental events and when Cromwell signs up for the same university that Bonnie does, a whole lot of shit goes down.

I'll give nothing more, and I suggest you read it and formulate your own opinion! This review is purely my own and I would really love if I could lie and give this a high rating because the cover is mouth-watering, the blurb is hooking enough and even the first 40% of the book was a solid 3-4 star read. But then I read on.

The imagery and the color synesthesia was something that I actually really enjoyed, it was unique and beautiful and I completely understood how vital it played a role in the plot. However, the first main problem for me was the dialogue.

"You get pussy by the truckload, huh?”
“I do all right.”

See, I understand the whole ideal of narration through the characters voice, and because this character is a guy - THERE JUST HAS TO BE 'locker room talk'....
So even though it made me cringe and a massive stamp with the word "stereotypical" was right next to my kindle waiting to be used. I held off.

The Romance
But then there was the chemistry. (or lack there-of)

I felt like we were told Cromwell and Bonnie had tension - but I couldn't necessarily feel it. Which paired with now really cliche and cringey dialogue can be a bit hard to swallow.

Yet still, I persevered like the true romance reader I am.

It did get better. The middle quarter of the book was filled with pathos and emotional scenes. It made me want to throw away any 'stamp' I had on the book and just keep reading it with no past ideals about it.

“Cromwell doesn’t speak much with his voice, but he screams what he feels with melodies and notes and the change of keys.”

I love romance books that integrate a form of art in it. Be it music, theater, art, literature etc. A lot of the time it's like adding magic to magic - I love the atmosphere and the desperation, which all in all can create some serious heavy tension between the two MC's.
This was a star in itself for this book. So if there is another thing I would like to point out, it's that Tillie Cole very beautiful stitched in the element of music with romance - so much so that I felt like I was falling for the art more than the romance.

Even though both were main plot lines in the story, the artistic element of it shone brighter than the chemistry between the Bonnie and Cromwell.

"Her voice was violet blue. I closed my eyes. It was my favorite color to hear."

So even though it made me cringe and a now massive stamps with the words "stereotypical" and "cliche" were right next to my kindle waiting to be used. I held off.

The Plot
But then there was the plot.

Ooh my.

I'm not going to stretch this one out.
But I would like to just....

adding this to the ‘this made me cry, which rarely happens, so it automatically get 5 stars’ list.

the best way to describe this story is ‘a walk to remember’ meets august rush. its a story of borrowed time and musical hearts, listening to your dreams and following your passions, fighting for life and accepting love, the families you are born into and the families you find, and its about the beauty of colors we see and hear.

if you have read TCs other book, ‘a thousand boy kisses,’ this is very similar in terms of characters. it felt at times that i was actually just reading about them all over again, so that may annoy some readers. but i liked the characters then, and i like them now.

overall, a passionate story that makes you feel all the emotions.

“The best music must be felt.”

Tillie Cole can write all kinds of books in all different genres, but my favorite of hers are the emotional ones. A Wish for Us is a book of healing and of growth. And it will give you ALL the FEELS.

Bonnie Farraday loves music. She lives for it. It inspires her, moves her, and she can’t get enough. Cromwell Dean’s life has been music for so long, but he’s lost the music and the love for it. His life has changed and he can’t find the spark that used to make him care. Until he meets Bonnie. She brings that spark back to his life. She makes him feel alive.
“Since you . . . it’s felt different. Music. It’s you, Farraday. You’ve made it different… I’m inspired.” She sucked in a breath. “You inspire me.”

Normally, when I write a review for a Tillie book, I go on and on and gush. I’m not going to do that with this book. Not because I didn’t love it, but because I want readers to get the full experience when reading. You’ll be glad you went in without any major plot points given away. I read it blind and was happy to not know what was going on.

Tillie’s writing is stunning. This story is gorgeous. I could hear the music when I read. Better yet, I could feel it. I could see it. I could taste it. I loved the changes that the characters brought out in each other, and I loved watching them both grow together. Bonnie and Cromwell’s story is one I won’t be forgetting any time soon. It’s a must read for all Tillie Cole fans and anyone who’s looking for a book to give them all the feels!!!
“You gave me back music. It was you, Farraday. You gave me back what I’d lost. It was you who brought the music back to my heart. You helped my music rediscover its soul.”

Tillie Cole will always be one of my most favorite authors. I am in awe of her talent! A WISH FOR US is an emotional love story filled with so much beauty. I spent the latter half of the book with tears streaming down my face. Tillie’s writing is simply exquisite in this one. It was hard to pick a quote to post in my review because there were too many I loved and I was afraid that sharing any of them would possibly spoil the story for those of you who haven’t read the book yet.

The main characters are both broken but incredibly beautiful. Their mutual love for music will eventually tether them to each other and will ultimately be their salvation. Cromwell Dean is one of the biggest DJs in the U.K. and somehow he ends up attending a small university in South Carolina where he majors in classical music composition. It is in that class that he runs into a girl he’s met before who with one critical observation of his EDM music was the reason why he put his career as a DJ on hold and enrolled in college.

Bonnie Farraday has always loved music. It’s in her blood. She is in awe of Cromwell’s God-given musical talents, but the two get off to a very rocky start. Cromwell has an incredibly huge chip on his shoulder and is angry at the world. He’s always irritable and abrasive, and while Bonnie has a tendency to spark his anger, she has a calming effect on him as well. Soon enough the two embark on an all-consuming love affair.

Their love story is one of the most beautiful that Tillie has written since ”A Thousand Boy Kisses”. It evoked so many painfully raw emotions. The tears just kept flowing. It was borderline torturous, but there was no way I could put the book down. I had to get to the very end to see how it all played out.

Here are my overall ratings

Hero: 5++++++
Heroine: 5
Plot: 5+++++
Angst: 5
Steam: 3
Chemistry Between Hero & Heroine: 5

KITTY KATS CRAZY ABOUT BOOKS

A WISH FOR US: Is a Full length, emotional New Adult novel by Author ‘Tillie Cole’ Spoken in ‘Dual Perspectives’ In this we meet Crowell Dean and Bonnie Farraday.

Cromwell Dean is a nineteen year old music prodigy, a musical genius who just one day stopped playing, and instead turned his hand at spinning beats, when Bonnie and Cromwell first met she accused his music of having no soul, she’d heard of Cromwell way before he’d made his stamp as a hot shot DJ in Europe, and because of this she’d travelled especially just to see him but left feeling empty and unimpressed. And that was the end of that. Or so they thought.

I'd heard you were some messiah or something on that podium. But all your music comprised was synthetic beats and forced repetitive bursts of unoriginal tempo."

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Starting a new chapter in his life at Jefferson Young, University in London, ridding on a scholarship to study under a world renowned composer, the last person he ever expected to see again was the girl that told him his music has no soul, to say he’s bitter is an understatement, he’s rude and arrogant, cold and hurtful, with a chip on his shoulder bigger than the Eiffel Tower but there’s no hiding from the girl who sees too much because he’s rooming with her twin brother Easton.

He may be the fastest rising DJ in Europe, but what he was playing wasn't his passion.

Cromwell is the boy who feels too much, he's sees the world in colour, he masks his pain by drinking himself into oblivion, trying to hide from the music that speaks to him.

But not only that they have been teamed up together for the rest of the year to compose a piece of original music.

Working together is difficult, Bonnie knows what he's capable of but he's hiding from the pain music brings out of him, she pulls, he pushes, slowly she gets under his skin and we see him emerging into that same young boy that let his soul sing.

Tillie Cole like the rest before me has collected my fallen tears too!! I have no words..This was just so beautifully written, it made me wish that I played an instrument so that the music could convey how much this hit me, I loved everything about this book, a slow burn, slow ignite, slow destroyer of tears, Tillie Cole has done it again!! This book pretty much slayed me, all the feels in the world..

A wish for me, for you, for us.

I really love this author and I have read many of her books. The "Hades Hangmen" is one of my favorite series. This book is nothing like those books though. You see, one of the reasons I love her writing/books so much, is because she doesn't stick to just one type of genre. You never know what you are gonna get, but so far I have loved them all !!

If there is one thing I would like to say about this book, it's that it has broken me... I advice everyone to read this one without any spoilers, and you won't find any in my review. Do yourself a favor and just jump in ... you won't be sorry...

“What’s your favorite? Your favorite color to see?” “Violet blue,”

I really can't give you much about the story though, not without ruining it and for that, I am sorry (not really). What I can tell you, is that it has been a long time since a book has had such an impact on me. I finished it yesterday, before I went to bed and it took a long time for me to find my sleep. When I woke up, it was the first thing on my mind... Sitting here writing this review, I can again feel all the emotions well up...

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor so emotional gif

Now I know that some events in this book, might not be the most realistic ...But I myself read books to escape reality, so I wasn't bothered by this.

I closed this book with a smile on my face and tears still rolling down my cheeks....that's quite the accomplishment for the author I would say ;)

I highly recommend this book....just be prepared to be broken...

"Cromwell Dean reached my soul with his voice."
description

A Wish for Us is a stand-alone contemporary romance about love, loss, and music. Set in the deep south on a bustling college campus, two musicians find healing and love in each other.

description
"There's not a part that I regret."
Cromwell Dean is a gifted composer, musician, and DJ. After years of escaping the demons of his past, Cromwell is thrust into the dark and light colors of music once again. When he is partnered up with Bonnie Farraday, a flourishing composer and performer, Cromwell's entire world is rocked. As Bonnie and Cromwell work together to create a perfect composition, both are forced to explore the brokenness that exists in their lives. The physical and emotional trials are insurmountable as both struggle to survive. Through their journey, they find healing and a chance to "chase the music from dawn until dust" forever.

description
"It was perfect. He was perfect. Like this, life was perfect."
Told in dual POV, A Wish for Us is a heartbreaking story full of complex characters and a rich plot. When secrets from their past (and present) are revealed, the pain experienced is raw and cuts like a knife. The dynamics between the characters plays out like a rich symphony. The text is lyrical and set at a driving tempo as each moment unfolds. Cromwell is a very damaged hero and when he is paired with Bonnie, together they make perfect harmony.

description

Overall, I highly recommend A Wish for Us to readers who enjoy a tender romance full of healing and loss. Tillie Cole is a master storyteller. With her rich text, complex characters, and intricate plots, Ms. Cole's work never fails to amaze me.

All the “Violet-Blue” Stars! All of them!!!!

“He was my violet blue. My favorite-ever note.”

Ok, I think I’m calm enough to do this now. But bear with me because this is probably going to be a ramble-fest. I tend to do that when a book blows my mind, and this one completely did. I don’t normally do Tillie Cole, not sure if by choice or lack of opportunity, especially when it comes to advance copies since my co-bloggers are huge fans, but this is not an author normally on my radar. I do own a lot of her books, I just haven’t gotten to them. Anyways, not important. I was mesmerized by this cover, and intrigued by that beautiful blurb. So I was so excited when I got this one, and prayed hard that it didn’t disappoint me. IT DID NOT. This was everything, and then some. My heart was in my throat the entire time, and I went through all the gamut of emotions. To say this wrecked me and gutted me is an understatement. But it also made me happy, so freaking happy. Sigh, this was such an experience. It’s the reason why I read, to have these experiences and read beautiful books like this.

“You can’t fight the colors you were born to see.”

Tillie Cole can write, she can freaking write, and it’s beautiful and all the rage and so much more. This was not cheesy, or sappy, this was original, and raw and real and perfect, just perfect. The descriptions, the colors, the characters, the angst, the romance, the friendships, the heartbreak, the loss, the love, above all the love, it’s all in there and it’s written in such a beautiful way that you can’t help but love every second of it. Even if it breaks you. Now, I’ve read that people are already comparing this with that other book of hers, you know which one, but it’s not, it’s different, so don’t even go there.

“You’ve complicated things for me, Cromwell Dean. You were never meant to complicate things.”

This one I’m not spoiling, not only because Tillie requested we didn’t, but also because it wouldn’t be fair to anyone. The blurb tells you a lot, the rest is in the book. I can definitely guarantee you that you will be completely happy in the end. But go blind, please go blind because this freaking book is amazing and you have to experience it for yourself. I’m even going to be super picky with my highlights, even though I have too many to count.

“Since you . . . it’s felt different. Music. It’s you, Farraday. You’ve made it different.”

This is an epic, but complicated, love story between two people that are broken for two very different reasons. Yet, it doesn't take you long to realize that they're completely destined for each other. Cromwell and Bonnie were such great characters, I loved them and this relationship so much. Their amazing connection and their love for music, combined with the way they saved each other was simply perfection. I just can’t even. This book also explores so many other things like family and relationships and other things people should talk more often about like mental illness and addictions. These characters will stay with you for a long time. This book will stay with you for a long time.

“And I had my Bonnie. My girl who still inspired the music that came from my heart. The girl who was always by my side. The girl who was the bravest person I knew. The most beautiful. The most perfect. And the girl, that with one single smile, still completely illuminated my world.”

Like I said, this was perfection. The writing, flawless. The characters, amazing. And the epilogue? For someone that craves the perfect epilogue, this one is at the very top, beautiful, perfect epilogue. Tillie Cole has gained a new fan and this has definitely become one of my favorite reads. Pick this one up on June 11, you won’t be disappointed!

This boy, who was holding me in his arms, was my wish come true. The boy who stood beside me through the hardest trials of my life. And the boy who, when I fell apart, brought me back to me, brought me back to him. Through music. Through love. And through the colors of his soul. He was, and forever would be, the beat in my heart.

Here are my favorite quotes:

“You’ve complicated things for me, Cromwell Dean. You were never meant to complicate things.”

2. She was my God-given gift. The girl that brought me back life.

3. I paused and just looked at her. Something settled in my chest that I hadn’t felt in years. Something I never thought I’d find ever again. Silver. I choked at the sight. Happiness.

4. “It may sound crazy. It may sound rushed and impossible . . . but he speaks to my soul. Cromwell is damaged and dark. I know it. And he has yet to let me in. But from the minute we met, his music has made it impossible for us to be apart.”

5. Cromwell Dean kissed like he played music—completely and with every ounce of his soul.

6. My hands itched to create. They always did when something big happened in my life. And having her with me like this, right now, I knew it was big. Bonnie Farraday had stormed into my life like a hurricane.

A Wish For Us by Tillie Cole mentally destroyed me. After reading A Thousand Boy Kisses by this author, I knew I needed to read her other books, but don't read them right after the other because they do take a toll on your heart. Tillie Cole, thank you for this amazing story, but you owe me a box of tissues. I remember sitting on the couch watching a baseball game reading this book, and trying to discard my tears as fast as possible. This book was so beautiful, yet so heart tugging. In advance, i'm sorry if this review is a jumble of thoughts and doesn't make any sense, i'm just trying to get my thoughts together without making a emotional mess of myself. With every page turned, I thought I knew what was going to happen, but boy was I wrong. The twists and turns just kept coming at me. I loved this story with my whole heart. Please do yourself a favor, and pick up a copy of this book, grab a cozy blanket and just read your way through, but have a box of tissues on deck.

A Wish For Us is a story of music, healing, and conquering love. Cromwell Dean is a nineteen year old rising star of EDM (electronic dance music). Thousands and thousands of people all over the world listen to Cromwell's music, so many people adore him, but no one knows who he really is as a person. No one knows the color of Cromwell's heart, except the girl in the purple dress. Cromwell leaves behind the gray skies in England to study music at a South Carolina college. But the last thing Cromwell expects to see is the girl with the purple dress. Bonnie Farraday is the girl with the purple dress, the girl who Cromwell saw at one of his concerts. Bonnie lives for music. Bonnie and Cromwell have the same college music class together, but Cromwell shares a dorm room with Bonnie's brother, Easton. Bonnie and Easton are twins.

Cromwell keeps his past hidden. He lost his father in the army, so attending college in South Carolina is a big step for him. Bonnie lets every music note into her heart, but she doesn't understand how someone as talented as Cromwell can avoid doing the same thing. Cromwell his hiding from his past and Bonnie knows damn well he is. Bonnie tries to stay clear of Cromwell, but something keeps calling her back to him. Bonnie and Cromwell start off on the wrong foot, Cromwell barely speaks more than a word to her, and if he does he's rude to her. Bonnie is instantly drawn to Cromwell, he stands out from the other students with his tattoos, and his piercings. When Cromwell was having his concerts, I felt like I was right there in the crowd just screaming the words to the songs out loud, with no care in the world. My heart broke for Cromwell after the death of his dad.

Bonnie is the burst of color in Cromwell's darkness. He's the beat that makes her heart skip. But when a shadow falls over Bonnie, it's up to Cromwell to be her light, in the only way he knows how. Bonnie has a secret of her own she's hiding from Cromwell, I won't say what it is because I don't want to spoil the story. I absolutely adored the relationship these two formed. But, I believe these two lost, broken souls deserve the absolute world. Please, please, please read this book at caution because it does have suicide involved. This book just blew my mind, it was so beautiful, but such a heart wrecker. I felt like I was on a crazy roller coaster ride, with a million twists and turns having no clue where i'm going. I knew I was going to cry reading another Tillie Cole book, but I didn't expect to have a sob fest. Again, I apologize if this review doesn't make any sense.

Beautifully written book yet a bit mushy. It still is a good read with colors, music, and soul.

Inhalt: Das neue New Adult Buch „A wish for us“ von Tillie Cole ist am 31.01.2020 bei Lyx erschienen.

Fazit: „A wish for us“ ist keine typische Unigeschichte. Es gibt viel Drama, Schmerz und Gefühle! Das Thema „Synästhetik“ wurde fantastisch umgesetzt. Wer auf der Suche nach einer Liebesgeschichte mit neuen Themen ist, ist hier definitiv richtig. Haltet Taschentücher bereit!

Genre: NA Contemporary Romance
Type: Standalone
POV: First Person - Dual
Rating:

Cromwell Dean was a Brit up and coming DJ in Europe. But as his music brought people to life, it was slowly killing his soul. He decided to move to the US to study music but what's waiting for him could bring back demons from his past.

Bonnie Farraday lived and breathed music. The ambitious young woman was focused on her goals until Cromwell came into her life. However, he could possibly be the distraction she desperately needed.

Even with the rudeness and the arrogance that I saw from him most days. I now knew there was a pain behind his blue eyes, tattoos, and dark hair.

Cromwell carried a lot of pain behind his broody, closed off persona. Of course those have always been my weakness when it comes to heroes. He had raw talent that he refused to hone. It was sad seeing how it hurt him to do so.

“She made me listen to the music inside me again. She made me play. She inspired me . . . She made me me again.”

Bonnie was your typical go-getter. Even though she was more on the quiet/shy side, she made sure she got what she wanted. I like her passion and her capacity for love.

The most interesting aspect of this book is Cromwell's "affliction" that reflected in the cover - which made perfect sense after reading the book. I like visualizing the scenes of how he saw it as I read it.

This book promised an emotional upheaval. At first, I wasn't really convinced. It was until much later in the story that the tears started falling. But the pain was worth it lol!

I should have walked away when I still had the chance.

A Wish For Us is a story of healing and hope. It would appeal to readers who enjoy emotional romance.

Ok. Let's start by taking this out of the way that I know there are people with doubt / curiosity. Many people are "afraid" of this book, because the author said that it is at the same level of "A Thousand Boy Kisses". But the comparison is just to prepare you, so you keep the handkerchiefs close to you.

But the comparison stop there.

I am an easy crier and I cried the whole Poppy and Rune book  - much more than this new book - but A WISH FOR US makes a bigger impact. So, without saying much (but already saying) be prepared for a book with great possibility of getting you very emotional. But that's not all that A WISH FOR US does. The way Tillie describes the environment, the music, the colors, made me want be there to to listen and dance too. It made me wish Cromwell was real and I could listen to him and see him play for real.

This book is about Bonnie Farraday, a student in love with classical music who, on a visit to England, met Cromwell briefly and was not a pleasant conversation. And Cromwell Dean is a famous DJ in Europe and gets the opportunity to go to a college in the United States to study music with a legend. The same college Bonnie studies. These two who do not like each other at first because they also don't have similar tastes, end up discovering in each other more things in common than they imagine.

A WISH FOR US, despite the light premise, is not an easy book. It will make you fall in love with these characters as if they were part of our lives. It makes us want to know more about them, to help them, to understand them. And even if you don't have all the information, when you least expect ... puff !! , you're already in love. This is good, right? When we read a book and fall in love with the hero and heroine? For sure! But ... the author slowly takes our heart and squeezes it. And you feel it. Feel everything. Feel that you will be hurt, but "OMG!" you can't put it down. Tillie was brilliant in her writing. It made my heart beat hard with the tunes, made me see those specific colors, made me have that experience with them.

The story is about two people who are passionate about music, told in a unique way. I've never heard of a person like Cromwell and I was fascinated by him. I thought it was magical the way Tillie told this story. But the story also knocked me over. In one scene, I stopped in the middle of the text and couldn't hold it anymore because I got so emotional  and stared to ugly cry. In fact, I was afraid someone here at home would listen and come to see if I was okay. The pain was real. But the story is wonderful. And despite any unreal or flaws I may have found, I can only think of how wonderful it was to have the opportunity to read this book. If I would recommend it? You have no idea how much. This was just perfect.

*I received an ARC of this book. Thank you!

Obrigada!

Music, romance and tears, so many tears. A Wish For Us is like an epic song, performed live by an entire orchestra inside your heart. You will hear it, feel it, and almost taste it. A beautiful story that will consume all of your senses from beginning to end.

Cromwell Dean is currently the hottest DJ in the club scene. His shows are always sold out because he delivers an electrifying techno experience, full of amazing music and color. But the more people praise him, and the more fame he acquires the less he cares, the less he feels. He numbs himself with alcohol and sex, he doesn’t want to feel anything at all. One night in the middle of a club a peculiar girl catches Cromwell’s eye, because she’s in the middle of this huge party, that is full of energy, and yet she’s not moving to the rhythm of the beats, she’s just listening with her eyes closed. Later that night, they run into each other again and she accuses him of something he already knew, that his music had no soul. Whether Cromwell wants to admit it to himself or not, what that girl told him pushes him into a new direction, where he will follow the music and the colors he once used to love.

Bonnie Farraday was the girl who shocked Cromwell Dean to his very core, that one night before he came back to the States to enroll in college. The only girl who’s not falling at his feet. Bonnie only wants to make music, her dream is to write beautiful lyrics for artists all over the world. That’s why she’s so excited to be attending professor Lewis’s music class, but she’s less than thrilled to be sharing this experience with Cromwell.

Bonnie and Cromwell are not your typical college students, they both have a emotional baggage and both have immense talent. They mask their attraction to each other, with constant fighting and bickering but sooner rather than later, those fights will turn into a beautiful love story, full of music, and blinding color.

Tillie Cole writes words that go directly into the heart. Her stories demand your complete attention, and your smiles, and also your tears. Her books are always unpredictable and completely heart rendering. A Wish For Us is truly a masterpiece.

This book shredded me. Half the time I was reading my nose was stinging and my eyes were watering up. Then of course I had the sniffles! It got so bad that my husband asked me if I was getting a cold. Why, do you ask? Well my friends, it's because I am not a crier! A Wish for Us had me crying so much that I felt like I was experiencing my second pregnancy again. Seriously?!
Tillie Cole is a exceptionally talented author. I have been a fan since she started. This book is beautiful and one of a kind.
I enjoyed the push and pull between Bonnie and Cromwell. The slow build of their relationship and the strength they both displayed in difficult times was amazing. So much of this story is building the love they have for one another but it's also centered on family and the support you get from them. The depth of emotion you experience while reading this book is neverending. I went to sleep when I finished and I woke up with a book hangover.
Do I recommend this book to be read? Hell yes! Should you have a box Kleenex ready? Stupid question!
Buy the book, read it and then tell me how much of a genius Tillie is.

Where can I start whit this one? How can I explain how good this was? It made me feel so many emotions and I'm still thinking about everything😭

"A Wish For Us" broke my heart into small pieces and put them back together. Tillie Cole wrote this in a beautiful way, I just couldn't stop reading because each time it was getting even better. The two main characters were everything and more. Their connection was pure, sweet and perfect!! ❤️

❝He was perfect as he told me a story I would never know, yet completely understood.❞

I loved everything about this story...
The romance, the plot, the characters and their feelings, all the colors and the whole music theme (BRILLIANT BTW). Too many things that made this one of my favorite books of all time.

I always say that if a book made you feel like you were on a roller coaster, then it was worth it. It was well written, I mean, the amount of phrases I highlighted says it all (extra points for that haha)

And finally, let's talk about the cover...it's sooo beautiful, isn't it? I'm in love😍

❝Her voice was violet blue. I closed my eyes. It was my favorite color to hear.❞

**** 4.5 Stars!!!!****

Another emotional read written by Tillie Cole! I pretty much know that when I pick up one of her books, they are going to leave some kind of imprint on my heart. This story definitely left a huge imprint on my ticker, and I won't ever forget Cromwell and Bonnie. I will admit though, that Cromwell was the one that won my utmost respect, love, and adoration! It is actually kind of funny I say that, because when I first started this book; I didn't care for him much at all! I found him to be rude and he just had this awful chip on his shoulder. I was totally wrong to judge him...he came through in such a big way for the people he cared about! What a unique character he was!!

There is not a lot that I want to say regarding the story itself, because I never wish to reveal any spoilers. My only complaint when it comes to this book, and the reason for my half a star dropped..was that I felt Cromwell got so much emotional turmoil thrown on him...it got to be so overwhelming. I feel that in a lot of Tillie Cole's books she seems to think she needs to pile on mounds and mounds of baggage for her some of her heroes/ heroines....it gets to be a little nuts!!! In this one, he definitely got way more than his share of baggage...my heart bled for him...

That was my only complaint though when it came to "A wish for Us..." The relationship that developed between Cromwell and Bonnie was beautiful....it truly was special. The way that they were there for each other, was inspiring!!! If you are a reader who has enjoyed Tillie Cole's other lighter romance books..then this is a must read!!! I promise it will make you laugh, cry, and sigh!!! It takes you on a journey you won't ever forget...and this will be going in my Best of 2018 pile!!!

Be warned that to keep this review spoiler free I won't speak about the plot much but rather about my reactions to the book and the characters.

Some back story first...

I requested this ARC before I even saw the cover and the blurb. Call it intuition but I hadn’t read Tillie Cole’s last books as she went too dark for my tastes but I just thought “This one will be lighter”.

Turns out when I read the blurb and saw the cover that yes, she had decided to leave “the dark side of the force” and go with something sweeter but promising emotions (“For fans of A Thousand Boy Kisses” who was an ugly cry!).

Only… I got a mail telling me I was not selected to get the book. People had been chosen at random and I wasn’t among the lucky fews.

Swallowing my deception I asked other reads on Netgalley.

When I synced my Kindle as I had bought some books I got….the ARC! WTH????

I could not believe my luck!

When it landed on my kindle I dove right in and until 30% in the book I was "all ado about nothing" and "what's wrong with me" because I should FEEL but..nope. Nada. Nicht. Niente. Nothing. MEH!

All ingredients were presents: the rebel DJ former music prodigy who was suffering deeply from a loss. Said loss pushed him to turn his back to his beloved music or rather music played with instruments rather than computer.

The good girl, straight A student and enamored with classical music. She told him straight away what he created lacked soul and feelings.

She seemed to be ill or recovering from an illness.

You’d think I would feel moved and invested right?

Wrong.

Boring. And frustrating as I was thinking “Hell I wanted this ARC so much and so far it’s a 3 stars for me whereas everything seems right to give me feelings overload. What’s wrong with me?”.

I just wanted to tell Cromwell to go to hell and stop whinning. Yes he had lost his daddy. Yes he was angry and hurting. But he was not the only one who lived a tragedy! Being polite to others, not treating girls like dish rags costs nothing!

I hate brats! Probably because I have some moody teenagers at home and sometimes their level of egotism is ...floundering! No patience left in my bones with bratty book characters.

But I soldiered on. I had a review to write...

Luckily past the 35 to 40% I fell into the story and more important into the characters.
That's around that time that Cromwell let Bonnie see the real him. And so did I.
Right alongside Bonnie I fell for Cromwell.
It tells much about Tillie's writing as my moods flowed with Bonnie's unveiling of Cromwell!

Then the waterwork began.

I had to have tissues as the ready so many times ! I thought "Oh No! Tillie will put A 1000 boy kisses on me!". I dreaded this yet that was one of the reasons I was so impatient to read it!

Now I will use colors to rate everything and explain.

Cromwell got from murky brown (unattractive color to my eyes) to brilliant azure blue ( one of my favorite colors).

Bonnie was indigo to purple all along. My absolute favorite colors! She was sweet, passionate, fragile yet strong and her greatest quality she was not a doormat to Cromwell's brattiness! Hata girl!

Easton was Bonnie's brother and he was a bright and sunny yellow before plummeting into dark, dark colors.

The story was a weak green in the beginning to become bright red ( the color of love) but going through dark grey ( despair).

The writing is a flawless bright pink as Tillie made me see and feel exactly like Bonnie, disappointment and awe all rolled into one.

Final rating: all the colors of rainbow.

Now some music please!

Have you read it? Or plan to?
Thanks for reading and happy Monday!

Wow! My heart, my emotion is now burst with colors. I wonder what color is it, if Cromwell ever listen to it.

Miss Cole nails A wish for Us into perfection. Her writing gradually grew more original and intense. Unlike her early works. Miss Cole compose a story just like she can see the colors herself. The story of Bonnie and Cromwell, will break your heart and put it back together with colors. Many briliant colors.

So good!

This book is very emotional, it broke my heart. Tillie Cole writes dark stories or quite tragic romances.
This story is in the style of A Thousand Boy Kisses, so if you've already read it, you know what I'm talking about.

I still can not decide if I liked it or not, so when I write the review, maybe the score will change.

Y'all this was such an emotional story that it knocked me off my feet! I didn't realize how emotional this this book was going to be and how many tears I would be shedding.

The first time these two met they didn't exactly hit it off but Bonnie had a reason to want to meet him. Cromwell was less than cheery having a nosy American scrutinize him but yet with Bonnie he saw colors he didn't often see. Cromwell had a unique gift with music and he had an opportunity to find out more about it, but the catch was that he had to travel to America. Little did he know that his life was about to change and I wasn't sure how he was going to handle it.

Ms Cole gave us such an emotional story that captured my heart until the very end. Beware to have Kleenex, and your go to snack because once you start reading it you will not want to out it down!! That cover is perfect for this Amazing story! Y'all be prepared to get lost in such an emotionally beautiful story <3 Kara~ 5 Stars
